I sometimes get up early to play on the computer and out of the corner of my eye I can see someone-something peeking at me from around the corner of the couch. When I get up see what it is there is nothing there, but there is such a strong physical sense coming from this thing that I hollered at my daughter to go back to bed only to find her fast asleep. At first I thought that I was being weird but my wife has said she has seen the same thing. Things tend to get lost and then reappear in places they shouldn't be. Nothing concrete but spooky nonetheless.

A personal story of my ghostly experience is after my mom died. I wasn't living at home at the time (she lived in Texas and I in Oklahoma with my grandparents, 100 miles and 2 hours away). We are still on what is called 'party lines'. You can call the number, hang up and the phone will ring. On many occasions the phone would ring and it was give the party line speech 'someone on your party line is trying to reach, please hold on until the other party answers'. I was the only one home on these instances. The shadows were seen as well. It was like a huge shadow would block out the light in the kitchen and work it's way into the hallway. It wasn't all that bad to me, I got used to it. My friends on the other hand, got a little too freaked by it and wouldn't stay over anymore after they saw it.

I work in a hospital. The other night I was walking down one of the back hallways with one of the security guards. The hallway is approx 60-75 yards long and from where we were walking you could see all the way to where the hall comes out into surgery waiting room. I was walking as I said and chit chatting with the guard looking down the hall. Now in this area at this time of night it is semi dark and everything is locked up. As I looked down the hall a black object appeared from the left side of the waiting room. It was solid black. I saw no features other than it looked like it had its arms extended over the top of it, and seemed to be bending back and forth from the waist while turning in circles. Whriling around and around and around, it seemed to be moving almost in slow motion like I wasn't seeing clear movement, I immediately broke out in goosebumps and said to myself I must have been chasing too many ghosts, at about that time the security guy says, "Did you see that? Somebody just ran across there." So we hustled down the hall and came to the waiting area the thing had gone from left to right across my field of vision where the thing disappeared to was the big glass doors into the outpatient surgery area, which of course was locked, only other thing I noticed was that it was very cold there but this is the hospital its always cold.

In Ponca City, there is a house. It is rather old, probably built around the late 30's. Is a two story model. Complete with basement and so forth. I spent quite a portion of my youth there. There were two main apparitions that showed themselves to my younger sister and I. As you went up the stairs, the feeling of unease and dread would begin to build. If you were lucky, the light would remain on until you reached the upper story. As you reached the end of the stairs, many times...there would be a flaming skull come from the bathroom. If you weren't lucky then you knew that awaiting you in the bedroom was the ghoul. I still have nightmares about this thing. She stayed mainly in the closet. But, didn't matter to her if you shut the door or not, she would open. All we could see of her was a decomposing head and hear hideous laughter and so forth. There were a few instances of the beds being shook, electrical disturbances...ie lights flickering and phone ringing with no one on line, the radio would play by itself. The house, being older of course would creak, groan, snap, crackle and pop...settling you know. As a child amazed me that a house could settle in the exact replication of footsteps on the stairs. We had the water taps that had minds of their own as well. Was a very spooky house. I have considered many times taking a trip back to Ponca, just to knock on the front door...see if it is still haunted. I know this probably wasn't real spooky, but believe it or not, still so traumatized...is real hard to talk about. Thanks
